Overview
By joining Newcastle University for the German MLitt you will benefit from expert supervision covering a diverse range of disciplines. This course allows you to combine your interests and our expertise to achieve your research objectives whilst exploring something you are passionate about.
The German MLitt allows you to master advanced research skills through taught and research elements of the programme. These valuable skills can lead to a future PhD or a career in academia and related professions.
We offer expert supervision in the following research areas of German studies:
- Literature, film, and society in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the 20th and 21st centuries (Dr Ludden, Dr McClelland)
- Literary Multilingualism (Dr McClelland)
- Gender and the body in literature (Dr Ludden)
- Space and environment in literature (Dr McClelland)
- German-language poetry in the 20th and 21st centuries (Dr Ludden)
- Cultural and critical theory (Dr McClelland, Dr Ludden)
- German-speaking theatre and performance studies (Dr McClelland)
- Morphology and morphosyntax of German and Dutch (Dr Fehringer)
