Subject-specific events
Throughout the year, we host academic tasters in a variety of degree subjects from all of our faculties. These sessions are usually hosted by our academic staff with support from recent graduates and current students.
Events in 2025/26 have included:
- Humanities and Social Sciences: Creative and Cultural Industries, English and Law
- Medical Sciences: Dentistry, Pharmacy and Medical Sciences
- STEM: Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics
Aspiration raising activities and application support
We can also host bespoke events at a time and date that suits teachers. These events are led by our expert Outreach Team and aim to support students on their educational journey.
Sessions during these events may include:
- Study skills: Academic writing, project planning, presenting like a pro
- UCAS Application support
- A guide to student finance and student life at Newcastle University
- Understanding contextual offers and supported entry routes

Carousel 2 Academic taster lecture or practical experience (opposite of Carousel 1). |

Campus Tour Led by student ambassadors and/or recent graduates. |
