Aligned to Newcastle University's Next Generation Newcastle vision and The North East Mayoral Strategic Authority's equality objectives, we offer a holistic approach to regional offer making.
New for 2027 entry! An exciting opportunity for applicants in North East England
We offer two exciting regional admissions opportunities for eligible applicants from Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, Gateshead, South Tyneside, Durham and Tees Valley:
- Regional Guaranteed Offer for students who live or study in eligible postcode areas.
- Regional Contextual Offer for students studying at state schools in the region.
Some students may be eligible for both opportunities. Where this applies, the benefits can be combined.
- Example: A student who lives in an eligible postcode area and attends a state school could receive a guaranteed offer up to two grades below the standard entry requirements.
Regional Guaranteed Offer
You may be eligible if either:
- your home postcode is in an eligible area, or
- your school/college postcode is in an eligible area
Applicants must also:
- be predicted CCC or above at A level (or equivalent)
- meet any subject requirements for the course applied to. For example, if the course you're applying to requires specific GCSE subjects, these conditions must be met
The following courses have restricted quotas and /or require an interview. These courses are not included in our regional guaranteed offer.

Regional Contextual Offer
Successful applicants may receive an offer up to two grades below the standard entry requirements.
If you are currently studying at a state school in the North East or Tees Valley region you may be eligible for a lower contextual offer.

You don’t need to apply separately for a regional contextual offer.
We will automatically assess your eligibility using the information provided in your UCAS application, including your school/college details.
Submit your UCAS form by the relevant UCAS deadlines for your course(s) and we will take your circumstances into account when considering your application.
