St Nicholas’ Educational Trust Scholarship

This scholarship supports students coming to Newcastle University from Newcastle and the surrounding area.

About the scholarship

Provided by: The St Nicholas Educational Trust. Their aim is to ensure that young people from Newcastle upon Tyne can have the benefit of a good education. 

Number of awards available: Up to 4 

Scholarship amount: £3,750 total - £1,250 will be paid per year for three years of study  

Eligibility criteria

  • a UK based Undergraduate student, entering stage 1 of study 
  • a Widening Participation (WP) student
  • be under the age of 25 years by the time you conclude your undergraduate degree 
  • have been resident within the boundaries of Newcastle upon Tyne for five years or more (postcodes include NE1, NE2, NE3, NE4, NE5, NE6, NE7, NE12, NE13, and NE15) 

How to apply

No application is necessary. The successful candidate will be contacted by email by the end of the Autumn term. 

 

Conditions

All donor-funded scholarship recipients are asked to provide an introductory profile when they first receive the award, and an annual update report to inform their donor of their progress. You will be contacted to provide these reports with plenty of notice. Recipients are encouraged to be available to meet the donors and participate in the promotion of student support activity at Newcastle University if requested.
