TEDEI - Training in Early Detection for Early Intervention

TEDEI (Training in Early Detection for Early Intervention) is an interactive course offering training for healthcare professionals (HCPs) to develop skills in the early detection of atypical motor development in infants 0-6 months old.

Course Information

TEDEI focusses in detail on neurological presentations and is rich in videoed examples of typical and atypical infant movement. It includes a simple “traffic light” guide on what action to take when motor difficulties are observed, with examples of how to approach identified difficulties with families.

Achieving improved detection of emerging motor difficulties in young infants is critical to supporting families and providing affected infants with timely intervention. Early provision of support is also crucial to the well-being of infants and their families. Our long-term aim is that as many infants as possible are identified early, and entered into effective early intervention programs.

TEDEI is designed principally for frontline community HCPs including health visitors, general practitioners, practice nurses and nursery nurses; but is relevant to many others including nurses, occupational therapists, paediatricians, physiotherapists, play specialists, and Portage workers.
