Get Ready to Join Us

Gone through Clearing? Here’s what happens next.

Congratulations on choosing Newcastle University

We’re really looking forward to welcoming you to campus.

Before you join us in September, there are a few key things you need to do.

Here’s a simple guide to help you get organised.

Apply for accommodation

We want you to have a great experience living with us and that starts from the moment you apply for your accommodation.

If you're applying through Clearing, please be aware that our university accommodation will have limited availability. While we can't guarantee a room, we're confident we'll still have some options.

All our undergraduate accommodation is close to campus and the city centre.

You can apply for accommodation from 10am on Monday 17 August.

  • if you log in before 10am, you’ll join our queuing system
  • when booking opens, you’ll be assigned a random slot
  • you'll see real-time availability on our portal (if your preferred accommodation doesn’t show, it’s already booked)
  • with our instant booking system you can reserve your room straight away

If our accommodation is full, we'll put you in touch with trusted private student accommodation providers. We'll also support you to find accommodation in our welcoming city.
