Whether you are a local student or travelling from further afield, you can get to Newcastle by bus, Metro, train, plane or car. View our travel information.

There is extensive parking available across the city. Take a look at our handy parking map.

You can also find out more about city-centre parking on the Newcastle Council website.

Unfortunately we cannot offer any luggage storage on campus, the nearest is Newcastle Central Station.

Where to eat

Fancy some tasty food or a barista-made coffee whilst on campus, why not visit one of our on-campus outlets?

Catering outlets and timings confirmed in Spring 2026.

Travel bursaries

If you live in a certain postcode, then you may be eligible for money towards the cost of your travel. This is open to offer holders only and does not include costs related to guests.

If you have experienced time in care or are estranged, you are automatically eligible for our Visit Bursary.

How we will confirm your eligibility

After you submit your application for reimbursement, we will review your UCAS application. We will confirm that you meet one of the eligibility criteria listed above.

To find out if you’re eligible, you can enter your postcode below:

You must be living in a postcode that is assigned TUNDRA LSOA Quintile 1. Find out more about the TUNDRA data.

If you qualify, you can collect a travel bursary form from our helpdesk at the Student Service Fair in The Boiler House.

You can claim a maximum of £50 per offer holder on receipt of costs incurred. For example, you must provide us with a copy of your train ticket receipt. We reserve the right to withhold payment without satisfactory proof of purchase.

If you don’t meet the postcode criteria but have extenuating circumstances that make it difficult to afford travel to an offer holder experience day, please contact us.
