Outside and around campus there is always some kind of popup event or freebies to be had and that interactivity gives a homely and lively feel.

Additionally, the convenience of the Co-op and Wetherspoons on campus is just fantastic. It’s great to hang out in the latter after or in-between classes.

Endless cafes

I didn’t realise how much of Newcastle I hadn’t yet explored, specifically around the city centre campus.

It’s been great fun finding loads of new cafe spots to chill with friends.

Strong support network

I’m yet to use any of the support available, but I recognise how committed Newcastle University is to providing all sorts of help to students, which is great.

The social aspect

It’s been a joy making new friends and socialising with people who have come here from other parts of the UK or even the world.

Group projects are fun for getting to know others on my course.

Standouts of my degree

Firstly, group projects have been super enjoyable. Having a different group each time stood out as engaging and interesting to me.

Furthermore, the lecturers and technical staff have been very kind and supportive. Being taught by them has felt very beneficial and memorable so far.

My degree amalgamates so many different themes with varying projects.

This has helped me with the idea of keeping my mind open to different career opportunities across the media landscape.
