Campus and city life
I love how there’s a vibrant and supportive community at Newcastle. And that’s on top of the excellent academic facilities on offer. The strong level of academic and wellbeing support makes settling in much easier than I had expected.
My appointments with the Careers Team have been invaluable in helping me refine my CV, prepare for interviews, explore graduate job opportunities, and develop a clear career plan. This support has boosted my confidence and equipped me with practical tools to navigate the job market.
The campus environment encourages both learning and personal growth, with friendly and approachable staff always ready to help.
I’ll never forget the welcoming atmosphere of the University and the warmth and friendliness of the people in the city of Newcastle itself. The city is lively yet accessible. The balance of student life with green spaces and cultural activities makes living and studying there a very pleasant experience.
Applications and scholarships
The application process was straightforward, but I made sure to highlight my relevant work experience and career goals to make my application stand out. For anyone applying, I would recommend gathering documents early and reaching out to the admissions or course team if you have questions. Applying for scholarship opportunities early will also maximise your chances.
My scholarship has been crucial in supporting me throughout my time at Newcastle University, enabling me to access all the academic and career resources I need to succeed.
Theory and practice combine
I like how the course combines theoretical knowledge with real-world case studies, simulations, projects, and industry interactions. We’ve studied supply chain design, procurement, logistics, digital innovation, risk and sustainability management, and how to use data-driven tools to optimise operations. I’ve also developed my teamwork, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
The course was challenging but rewarding.
I feel that Newcastle has prepared me for a wide range of careers in operations and supply chain management globally. The balance of academic rigor with practical skills makes me and my fellow graduates highly employable in this fast-growing field.
The extracurricular activities and diverse student community have also broadened my perspectives and improved my communication skills. My experience at Newcastle has been instrumental in turning my career goals into actionable plans.
The diverse and collaborative environment encourages teamwork and fresh perspectives, making the learning experience engaging and enriching. And it’s rewarding to see how the knowledge I gain directly relates to solving actual business challenges.
