Film and Media BA

Choosing Newcastle University

I chose Newcastle as it’s a prestigious university within in the Russell Group and close to home.

The application process was super easy. I’d recommend coming for open days to chat with the lecturers, university staff and current students to learn more about the course.

Easy to explore

I love the freedom here, and places to go like the Hancock Museum or the Hatton Building Art Gallery. My course has lots of filming so they're always fun go with friends.

The biggest surprise for me was the number of different places to explore and how easy it is to walk to places and travel across the city.

Fantastic support

Through the fantastic disability student allowance support I got my own laptop, and it’s really supported me through my studies.

Social life

The social aspect of university is amazing, there’s so much to do. I like to meet up with friends, play sports and do group projects or work together in study groups.

Creative and enthusiastic

The enthusiasm from all of the film team is second to none. It’s so creative so the overall support is great.

My future

This degree has reinforced my passion for journalism and filmmaking so hopefully in one of those industries.
