Meet Siya
International Business MSC
I knew Newcastle would expose me to new business environments and career opportunities, strengthening my network and preparing me for a global career.
Events to unwind and connect with different people
I love the welcoming environment and strong sense of community here. The lecturers are supportive, and the city itself is friendly and full of energy. Meeting people from different countries during the welcome events made me feel instantly connected and at home.
The social aspect of university has been one of the best parts of my experience. It’s so easy to meet new people, whether through classes or student events. Everyone is friendly and it feels like a close community.
I’ve attended a few of the Dance Society’s events and classes, and I enjoy the energy and creativity it brings. It’s a great way to relax, meet new people, and stay active while doing something I love. I’m hoping to get more involved with it.
I didn’t expect the city to have such a warm, community feel. I was also surprised by how beautiful it is, especially the Quayside and historic architecture. Everything is also so close and easy to get to. I love exploring the city with friends – going to cafés, trying new restaurants, or walking along the Quayside.
A well-rounded and practical course
The MSc International Business helps you understand how businesses operate across different countries and cultures. It covers key areas like global strategy, marketing, finance, and management, focusing on real-world case studies and projects.
I really like how the course encourages critical thinking and teamwork. Working with students from all over the world gives you a global perspective. It’s a great degree for anyone who wants to build a career in international markets, consulting, or global business management.
The lecturers are very supportive and always encourage us to think critically and share our ideas.
Career support and practical experience
In the future, I see myself working in a consulting or finance role where I can apply my analytical and problem-solving skills to strategic business decisions. I’d like to work with international clients, analysing markets, and developing business strategies that drive long-term success.
Newcastle has really helped me shape and clarify my future goals.
I’ve gained a deeper understanding of global business and developed skills in analysis, strategy, and teamwork — all essential for a career in consulting or finance. I’ve also improved my confidence in communicating with people from different backgrounds.
The university’s career support and networking opportunities have helped me explore different career paths and understand how to apply my strengths in a professional setting. I feel Newcastle has given me both the knowledge and confidence to pursue my ambitions.
