Background
Role
The Research Funding Development Team provides strategic pre-award research funding services. Our expertise lies in gathering and interpreting funding intelligence and assisting applicants in using this to best effect in planning funding strategies and preparing strong funding applications. We are guided by the University and Faculty Research Strategies and work very closely with the Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, Pro Vice Chancellor Global, and the Deans of Research and Innovation.
Elisa leads the EU and International Research Funding team and specialises in international research funding development, particularly Official Development Assistance (ODA)-based funding streams. She is co-Director of the University’s Global Challenges Academy, which fosters research and partnerships to help realise the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly where solutions are most urgently needed. She looks after the University’s membership of the RENKEI network (a British Council Japan initiative) and focuses on opportunities particularly involving Africa, North America, South Asia and South East Asia.
