Background

Roles and Responsibilities

To devise and deliver a strategy to enable to Faculty to maximise external research funding, supporting the Humanities and Social Science Dean of Research and Innovation and academic staff to enhance applications. 

Key activities include:

  • Engage with change and developments in the external research funding environments
  • Provide project-management style support to large, complex funding applications
  • Ensure the establishment and delivery of best practice in proposal writing and project management
  • Visits and information sessions from funders

Previous Roles

Over my career with Newcastle University, I have been in a number of roles in the research environment which has included Grants and Contracts, Research Centre Manager, School Research Administrator and Deputy School Manager.  I worked with a number of researchers from across the University to develop research applications and support the development and performance of the research environment.
