Defence Technical Undergraduate Scheme (DTUS)
Newcastle is one of only 10 UK universities taking part in the DTUS: a sponsorship scheme for students interested in a scientific, engineering or technical career in the armed forces or the Ministry of Defence.
You receive an annual bursary of £4,000, as well as training pay for the activities that you take part in. You can also earn a reserve forces bounty for completing a specified number of training days.
You will become a member of your chosen service’s reserve forces and will hold the rank of Officer Cadet (Midshipman for Royal Navy-sponsored students).
