I am 18 and in my first year of University studying International Business Management with Spanish as my language. I grew up in Kent but moved to London for University this summer!

Your course

Business is a well-respected course which is very versatile. You are not restricted with it as you are with some degrees. I felt that learning a language is not only a useful skill for business but also for life. The modules within the course are varied and allow me to view different areas of business so that in my 2nd and 3rd year I can choose the modules that are best suited to the career I want to pursue.

Choosing Newcastle University London

I chose Newcastle London due to the excellent course and busy location. There is always something going on in London and especially being in Liverpool street where the University is located. The campus is surrounded by busy city workers, helping to keep you focused and always thinking about your future.

Highlights so far

I enjoy the close-knit feel of the university and how accessible the lecturers are. In a quick trip to the 5th floor, you can chat with your lecturers about any problems. This really helps in the first few weeks when you get given your first assignments!

Best bits about my course

I enjoy learning Spanish the most and I can get involved practically in the classes as opposed to a lecturer just lecturing at me!

Living in London

I live in student accommodation right next door to the University, in ‘Chapter Spitalfields’. It is a truly incredible student accommodation with a stunning roof bar and library with views of the city. It was very easy to book online and my ‘in person’ tour was very informative.

Being a student in London

Being a student in London is incredible! I would recommend it to everyone, I really do enjoy being in such a big busy city. There is always something to do or see. The thing I enjoy the most would be the social life, as London has everything. Whether that’s going for a coffee in Spitalfields, a drink in the Alchemist, a theatre trip or clubbing. (All my personal favourites!).

Top tips for prospective students

I would definitely say to anyone considering Newcastle London to come and visit the campus because it absolutely blew me away when I came on an open day. The staff are so friendly, the building is beautiful, and the location is ideal.
