Overview
Newcastle University offers 16 partial Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships. They will assist EU students to study an undergraduate degree or postgraduate taught master’s degree.
Value of award
Up to £6,000 tuition fee awards.
Number of awards
8 undergraduate and 8 postgraduate awards.
Start date and duration
September 2024 for the duration of your course.

Eligibility criteria
For this award, we will consider applicants who:
- are domiciled in an EU member state (students domiciled in EEA member states that are not part of the EU, are not eligible). EU students domiciled in the UK will also be considered.
- have been offered a place to study on an eligible undergraduate degree programme at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for the 2024/25 academic year.
- are assessed as international for tuition fee purposes
- already have or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second class UK honours degree or above for postgraduate awards and a minimum of AAB at A level or equivalent for undergraduate awards.
We will assess eligible candidates according to evidence of:
- academic ability
- evidence of commitment to studies
- quality of application
